About the Tour

Be part of an intimate group of no more than 6 guests, on a full day, immersive exploration of the ecosystem and stunning scenery surrounding the San Juan Islands. Learn about the diverse wildlife of the Salish Sea as we search for the widest variety of species, including whales that may be in the area on any given day. The more time you spend on the water, the more you will see.

This tour is a great opportunity to spend a full day on the water with an intimate group of no more than six passengers. The extra time will allow us a lot more flexibility than our shorter tours to spend more time experiencing the diversity of this amazing ecosystem.

Departure Location

These tours depart from Snug Harbor Resort, an easy 15 minute drive or taxi from downtown Friday Harbor. Located on peaceful Mitchell Bay on the west side of the island, it has long been a preferred departure location for wildlife and whale watching tours. Your experience begins right from the dock viewing wildlife inside the beautiful protected bay. Many wildlife habitats lie within close proximity to this unique departure point, and it is often an advantageous launching point to wildlife and whale hotspots to the west and north. Please plan to check in 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Custom-Designed Ecotour Boats

Your tour will be onboard Imagine, a custom-designed vessel we had purpose-built for wildlife viewing and photography tours. Imagine accommodates intimate groups of no more than 6 passengers and offers 360-degree views with ample viewing space from anywhere on board, including the comfortable cabin. The boat also has a head, or marine bathroom, for your convenience.
