About the Tour

Our 3 hour, small group tours are a great opportunity to experience the scenic beauty of the Salish Sea and learn about our unique ecosystem. We will explore pristine wildlife habitats as we search for a variety of wildlife, including different species of whales that may be in the area on any given day. 

You will be part of a small group of passengers for the most intimate experience possible. There's plenty of elbow room and no competition for prime viewing space.

Departure Location

These tours depart from Snug Harbor Resort, an easy drive or taxi from downtown Friday Harbor. Located on peaceful Mitchell Bay on the west side of the island, it has long been the preferred departure location for wildlife and whale watching tours. Your experience begins right from the dock viewing wildlife inside the beautiful protected bay. Many wildlife habitats lie within close proximity to this unique departure point, and it is often an advantageous launching point to wildlife and whale hotspots to the west and north. Please plan to check in 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Custom-Designed Ecotour Boats

Your tour will be onboard one of the newest and most comfortable vessels from San Juan Island. You’ll enjoy luxury seating and a cabin for comfort in all conditions. There is excellent viewing from the outdoor bow and stern viewing decks, as well as unparalleled indoor visibility through the large cabin windows.

You are never seat-bound, and can move freely between the cabin and all viewing areas. Our boats also have a head, or marine bathroom, for your convenience.
